.
As a child, he lost his
father, and developed a tenderness for
the needs of those without parents. His
initial education of 7 years in Clinical
Psychology (B.S and M.A degrees)
and law (Juris Doctorate)
provided a means of understanding the emotional
needs and legal realities of providing care to
children. He worked four
years as a mental health therapist,
counseling adopted children and their
families. As an attorney he practiced in
the area of international law and has facilitated many
adoptions. He has made
dozens of trips to Romania and Latin America,
facilitating the security of donations of goods
and money for the front-line care of children.
He has developed friendships and stayed in the
homes of many in leadership, including
the Foreign Minister of Romania, former
Secretary of Health for France, and
ambassadors, ministers,
and congressmen in Nicaragua and Peru.
He has worked through selected
and trusted leaders in these countries and in various
U.S. Embassies, to assure
that donations to Lightshine actually benefit the
children in need. Paul has three grown
children and four grandchildren. He left
his law practice in 2004 to become
available as an 'advocate'
and 'counselor' for
the orphans in impoverished lands, who
often have no voice. In December 2005,
Paul founded Lightshine Adoption Agency, also a
non-profit corporation. See 'Adoptions'.

BEN EKLUND
At a very young age Ben acknowledged Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. During childhood, his faith in God grew to become the foundation of his moral beliefs. At the age of 12, Ben helped deliver medical and dental supplies to Romanian orphanages. This experience revealed another aspect of life, which taught the importance of giving back and showing sympathy to others. From that point on, Ben's perspective of life changed and he was motivated to help people however possible. At 16, Ben went on a mission trip to California, to help manage and teach at a bible school in a town with much poverty. As a 19 year old, Ben became
involved with "Lightshine" and was nominated Vice President. Now at 26, he is honored to be nominated President of Lightshine and is motivated to help perform God's will.
Ben attended the University of Washington and majored in Political Science (minor/emphasis in English), after receiving an Associate Arts degree from Highline Community College. Prior to graduation, Ben managed/consulted four political campaigns, starting at the age of 21 (In chronological order: Pat Sullivan for State Representative (2002/Campaign Manager/47th LD), Cindi Laws for Monorail Authority Board (2003/Consultant/Seattle), Cleve Stockmeyer for Monorail Authority Board (2003/Consultant/Seattle), and Phil Talmadge for Governor (2004-05/Finance/Office/Campaign Manager/Washington State).
After managing and consulting in four campaigns, Ben felt God sending his professional career in a different direction. Originally, Ben was prepared to go to law school and become an attorney. He also turned down other opportunities to stay in politics. Instead, Ben decided to become a Real Estate Professional and was licensed in 2005 (Washington State). In his first year, Ben received the John L.
Scott "Presidents Gold Award." He also has experience with managing new construction/land development. Ben has frequently worked with two new construction builders and two developers. He has also sold commercial real estate. Ben feels his early success in Real Estate is a result of listening to God, being willing to do something he never imagined himself doing and having a good work ethic.
In 2003, Ben married his "high school sweetheart" Carli. Shortly after, their daughter Abby entered into the world. In June of 2006, Carli and Ben will have a son. Ben loves being a father and is extremely grateful for his family.
